Abstract

Novel light stabilizers, i.e. metal complexes of formula I ##STR1## wherein Me is a doubly or triply positively charged metal ion, PA0 w is 2 or 3, PA0 p is 1 or 2, PA0 q is 1 or 2, PA0 r is equal to the number, to half the number or to a quarter of the number of the >N-Y groups present within the bracket q, PA0 R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently of one another are alkyl, or PA0 R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 together are alkylene, or PA0 R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, independently of one another, together are alkylene or azaalkylene, and, if q is 1, PA0 Y is hydrogen, oxyl, optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl, or, if q is 2, PA0 Y is alkylene, alkenylene, alkynylene or arylenedialkylene, PA0 s is a value from 0 to 2, PA0 X is a divalent organic radical which supplements the N-containing ring to form a 5-7-membered ring, or is two monovalent organic radicals, and PA0 L is a singly charged anion of an aliphatic carboxylic acid, of an aminophosphinic or aminophosphonic acid or of an enol of formula II ##STR2## wherein Z is oxo or optionally substituted imino, R.sub.5 is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl, R.sub.6 is hydrogen, alkyl, …
