Abstract

A cis co-ordination compound of platinum having the structure ##STR1## in which X and Y are the same or different ligands selected from sulphate, phosphate, nitrate, tartronate, benzylmalonate, cyclobutane-1, 1-dicarboxylate, phthalate, oxalate, tartrate, pyruvate, gluconate, succinato, glutarato, adipato, pimelato and malato and water and A and B are the same or different alicyclic amines selected from cyclopentamine and cyclohexylamine co-ordinated to the Pt through their N atoms, such that the platinum is present as Pt.sup.2+.
