Abstract

A novel process for obtaining cephalosporin C and the salts and derivatives thereof from culture filtrates or culture solutions is provided which comprises drying the culture filtrate or culture solution, dissolving it in an optionally water-containing solvent different from water, and PA0 (a) forming a derivative of the amino group of cephalosporin C, and isolating it in the form of a free acid or a salt, or PA0 (b) precipitating the cephalosporin C or the scarcely soluble salt thereof directly.
