Abstract
Process for the preparation of piperonylidenecrotonic acids amides of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 have the meaning given in the disclosure wherein piperonal is reacted with crotonic acid amides of the formula ##STR2## in the presence of hydroxides of the formula EQU A.sup.+ OH.sup.- in which PA1 A.sup.+ represents a quaternary ammonium or phosphonium group or an alkali metal complex with neutral organic complex ligands, and polar aprotic or polar, sterically hindered protic organic solvents which are inert under the reaction conditions.
