Abstract

Novel aminoalkoxyphenylpyrrolidones of the following formula show antihypertonic activity: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is H or OCH.sub.3 ; PA1 R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each, independently, H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, OH, C.sub.1-6 acyloxy, or C.sub.1-3 alkoxy; PA1 m and n are each, independently, integers of from 0 to 3; and PA1 A is >O, >S >N--R.sub.5, or >CH--R.sub.5 ; R.sub.5 is H, ##STR2## X is H, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, halogen, CF.sub.3, or OCF.sub.3 ; and Y is O, S or NH; PA1 and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
