Abstract

A process for reducing the sulfur content of coal comprising: PA1 (1) contacting an aqueous slurry of coal-oil agglomerates at elevated temperature with oxygen; and PA1 (2) recovering coal-oil agglomerates wherein the coal has reduced sulfur content.
