Abstract
A compound of the formula A-NR--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NHR' wherein R and R' are hydrogen, n is a whole number between 2 and 6 inclusive and A is selected from (1) anthraquinonyl per se wherein NR-(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NHR' is in position 2 or (2) anthraquinonyl of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are selected from hydrogen and lower alkyl, and the NR--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NHR' chain is in position 5. The compound is useful as a basic dye in coloring the hair.
