Abstract
Compounds of formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Ar is an unsubstituted or mono-, di or tri-substituted phenyl radical in which the substituents are the same or different and are selected from alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, hydroxy, cyano, amino, trifluoromethyl or nitro and in which any two adjacent carbon atoms on the phenyl ring may optionally be joined by a carbon chain having 3 or 4 carbon atoms; PA1 X.sup.1 is O or NH; PA1 R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and are hydrogen or alkyl; and PA1 Z is a group SO.sub.n R.sup.8 or a group ##STR2## in which X.sup.2 is O, S or NR.sup.4 ; R.sup.3 is alkyl, aryl, alkyloxy, aryloxy or NR.sup.5 R.sup.6 ; PA1 R.sup.4 is alkyl, aryl, alkyloxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, arylthio or NR.sup.5 R.sup.6 ; PA1 R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are the same or different and are hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, COR.sup.7 or SO.sub.2 R.sup.7 ; PA1 R.sup.7 is alkyl, aryl, alkoxy or aryloxy; PA1 n is 1 or 2; PA1 R.sup.8 is alkyl, aryl or NR.sup.9 R.sup.10 ; and PA1 R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 are the same or different and are hydrogen, alkyl or aryl, PA1 provided that when Ar is unsubstituted phenyl, X.sup.1 is NH, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are H, Z is ##STR3## and X.sup.2 is 0, R.sup.3 is not me…
