Abstract
A method of combating bacteria comprising applying to the bacteria, or to a habitat thereof, an acylhalogenomethyl thiocyanate of the formula ##STR1## in which R is alkyl with up to 6 carbon atoms, thienyl, phenyl, naphthyl, or phenyl substituted by halogen, hydroxy, alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy with up to 4 carbon atoms, nitro or phenyl, PA1 X is halogen, and PA1 Y is halogen or hydrogen.
