Abstract

A clear gel dentifrice containing "narrow cut" alkali metal lauryl sulphate in which the C.sub.12 content is at least 90% by weight of the total alkyl content and a fluorine providing compound. The dentifrice contains a further anionic surface active agent which is a substantially saturated higher aliphatic acyl amide of a lower aliphatic amino carboxylic acid salt, a substantially saturated higher fatty aliphatic alcohol alkylene oxide sulphate or a mixture of mono- and di- phosphate esters.
