Abstract
N-(heterocyclicaminocarbonyl)arylsulfonamides in which at least one of the acyclic nitrogens thereof is substituted by lower alkyl, or sometimes in the case of aminocarbonyl nitrogen, by methoxy; e.g. N-[N-(4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-N-methylaminocarbonyl]-2-chloroben zenesulfonamide or N-[N-(4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-N-methylaminocarbonyl]-2-nitrobenz enesulfonamide; are useful for the regulation of plant growth and as general and selective herbicides.
