Abstract

A polyurethane foamable composition comprising a brominated diol and three polyols is disclosed. The resulting foam formed by reacting these polyols and a diol with an isocyanate has a flame spread of 25 or less and contains a smaller quantity of halogen compounds than usually contained in polyurethane foamable compositions. This combination of polyols and flame retardant shows improved physical strengths and adhesion to primed tank substrates between temperatures of 100.degree. to 160.degree. F.
