Abstract
A cracking catalyst is treated with an antimony tris(dihydrocarbyl phosphite) to passivate contaminating metals whenever these metals have been deposited on the catalyst. Unused or used catalyst can be treated. A process for cracking a hydrocarbon, e.g., a petroleum oil with such a catalyst is also disclosed.
