Abstract
A cationic liquid laundry detergent for softening fabrics and giving them antistatic properties is disclosed which contains about 3-35% by weight nonionic surfactant formed by reacting about 5-200 moles of ethylene oxide with a hydrophobic organic compound having 8-50 carbons, about 3-30% by weight mono-long chain cationic surfactant selected from 2 groups of surfactants or mixtures thereof, and water soluble anionic surfactants selected from a mixture of C.sub.4 -C.sub.10 alcohol sulfates and C.sub.12 -C.sub.22 alcohol ethoxylated ether sulfates or carboxylates. The anionic surfactants are present at a mole ratio, one to the other, of about 1:5 to about 5:1 and the mole ratio of cationic surfactant to anionic surfactant is about 0.8:1 to about 10:1.
