Abstract

A photographic light-sensitive element for the color diffusion transfer process which comprises a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer with at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers having associated therewith a dye releasing redox compound represented by the following general formula: EQU D-Redox Moiety wherein D represents a dye moiety and Redox Moiety represents a group represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X.sup.1 represents an --SO.sub.2 -- group or a --CO-- group; R.sup.1 represents an unsubstituted straight chain alkylene group having 2 or more carbon atoms or an unsubstituted branched chain alkylene group having 2 or more carbon atoms with the proviso the branched chain alkylene group is incapable of forming an acetal linkage; R.sup.2 represents an alkyl group; and Y represents an o- or p-hydroxyarylsulfamoyl group having a ballast group bonded thereto.
