Abstract

Color-stabilized nonionic surfactants which contain chemically bonded poly(alkylene oxide) groups with terminal hydroxyl groups, wherein the color stabilizer is from 0.1 to 5% by weight, based on surfactant, of one or more compounds of the formula ##STR1## where X is O, CH.sub.2, C.sub.2 H.sub.4 or C.sub.3 H.sub.6, Y is O or NH and Z is H, CH.sub.3 or CH.sub.2 OH.
