Abstract
Nondiffusible compounds are described having at least one releasable 2-(2-heterocyclylazo)-1-naphthol dye moiety having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: G is hydroxy, a salt thereof, or a hydrolyzable precursor thereof; or a group which together with ##STR2## is CAR, said CAR being bonded to the naphthalene group through the oxygen of said ##STR3## group; Z represents the atoms necessary to complete a heterocyclic ring; PA1 CAR represents a ballasted carrier moiety; and PA1 t is a positive integer of 1 to 2.
