Abstract
A web of material is intermittently fed by feed rollers between and beyond pairs of clamping jaws comprising separated segments defining a gap receiving a reciprocatable severing knife. Beyond the clamping jaws, suction means hold the leading web end and, after said end has been severed, can be swung onto a support for a workpiece to which the severed web section is to be applied.
