Abstract

Platinum complexes of unsaturated siloxanes, substantially free of inorganic halogen and inhibitory compounds, provide superior hydrosilation catalysts when the unsaturated siloxane comprises, per gram-atom of platinum, PA0 (i) a combination of one mole of (CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH)((R).sub.2 Si).sub.2 O, and one mole of (CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH) (R).sub.2 SiOSi(R.sub.2)OH; PA0 (ii) two moles of (CH.sub.2 .dbd.CH)((R).sub.2 Si).sub.2 O; or PA0 (iii) a mixture of (i) and (ii), wherein R is free of aliphatic unsaturation and is selected from alkyl, cycloalkyl, and aryl groups.
