Abstract

Novel N-(2,5-diazolyl)-alkyl-halogenoacetanilides of the general formmula ##STR1## in which A represents oxygen, sulphur or the grouping >NR, wherein PA1 R represents alkyl, PA1 R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy, PA1 R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, PA1 R.sup.3 represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, PA1 R.sup.4 represents hydrogen or alkyl, PA1 R.sup.5 represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, dialkylamino, halogen, cyano or alkoxycarbonyl and PA1 Z represents halogen, and acid addition salts and metal salt complexes thereof are outstandingly effective as herbicides. Furthermore novel N-(2,5-diazolyl)-alkyl-anilines of the general formula ##STR2## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and A have the above-mentioned meaning.
