Abstract
A method for inhibiting corrosion of nonferrous metals in contact with circulating water comprising the steps of adding to circulating water in contact with non-ferrrous metals from 0.05 to 10 gm/m.sup.3 of at least one 3-amino-5-alkyl-1,2,4-triazole wherein said alkyl has from 2 to 8 carbon atoms and adjusting said water to a pH of from 6 to 10; as well as corrosion inhibiting compositions containing said 3-amino-5-alkyl-1,2,4-triazole.
