Abstract
2-Substituted benzazoles of the formula ##STR1## in which R represents optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted aralkyl, PA1 R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently of one another represent hydrogen, halogen, optionally halogen-substituted alkyl, optionally halogen-substituted alkoxy, nitro, cyano, alkylcarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl, or two radicals in combination form a benzo radical, PA1 X and Y independently of one another represent oxygen or sulphur and PA1 n represents zero or 1, synergize conventional pesticides. Those benzazoles in which PA1 R is --CH.sub.2 --C.dbd..tbd.CH, PA1 R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 represent independently of one another hydrogen or halogen (preferably chlorine), PA1 Y represents oxygen and PA1 n represents 1, are new and exhibit particularly high synergistic activity.
