Abstract
New ferrofluids. They consist essentially of an aqueous sol of polyoxyanions of Fe(III) and at least one metal of oxidation degree II from the first series of transition metals, with an associated cation, notably selected from H.sup.+,N (CH.sub.3).sub.4.sup.+ and N(C.sub.2 H.sub.5).sub.4.sup.+. Application for example for obtaining levitation or self-sustentation systems, as well as for forming contactors or rotating paths.
