Abstract

A normally solid Diels-Alder reaction product between maleic anhydride and decatriene can be liquefied by heat-treating at from 60.degree. to 250.degree. C. for from 10 minutes to 10 hours in the presence of a compound selected from the following groups (a) to (e): PA1 (a) alkali metal salts; PA1 (b) nitrogen atom-containing organic compounds; PA1 (c) phosphorus atom-containing compounds selected from phosphines and quaternary phosphonium salts; PA1 (d) thiocyanates; and PA1 (e) solid basic compounds.
