Abstract
An antiphlogistic compound of the formula (I) ##STR1## or a pharmaceutically effective salt thereof wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 alkoxy or together form a methylenedioxy group; PA1 R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6 are hydrogen or a group of the formula --CH.sub.2 --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -R.sup.7 with the proviso that at least one of R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 is other than hydrogen; PA1 R.sup.7 is a carboxylic group or a carboxylic acid derivative group; n=0, 1 or 2, provided that if R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are hydrogen and R.sup.7 in the group R.sup.6 is cyano or alkoxycarbonyl, and n=1, then R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrogen, C.sub.2-4 alkoxy, or together form a methylenedioxy group.
