Abstract

Process for the preparation of 4-phenoxyphenols of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 through R.sup.5 are hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, by diazotization of amines of the formula ##STR2## in a hydrochloric acid medium, and boiling in aqueous sulfuric acid at 110.degree. to 150.degree. C.
