Abstract

A modified musical instrument string comprising a core having a fine cover wire helically wound thereon, said cover wire having a substantially round cross-section over the major proportion of its surface, but having compressed flats at the crown of said wire at the outer surface of said string but not at the inner surface of said cover wire.
