Abstract
A blast furnace having a refractory lining of concrete components each having a volume of at least 0.2 m.sup.3, and comprising an alumina-containing cement or slag, chromium oxide of very fine particle size and fired aluminum oxide of somewhat larger particle size, together functioning as a cement for a refractory aggregate, provides great resistance to the heat and abrasive conditions existing inside of a blast furnace.
