Abstract

A process for the cold sterilization of a preparation containing blood coagulation factor VIII, comprising PA1 (A) contacting a protein solution containing factor VIII with a physiologically compatible, non-ionogenic tenside, and then subjecting the solution to PA1 (B) irradiation with ultraviolet light, PA1 (C) treatment with beta-propiolactione, and PA1 (D) to an adsorption treatment with colloidal silica, steps B-C-D being performed in the sequence B-C-D, B-D-C, D-C-B or D-B-C.
