Abstract

A water removing composition suitable for use in treating solid surfaces which comprises (a) a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent, (b) at least one member selected from the group consisting of amines having an oxyalkylene group, their salts with an organic acid of the formula, R.sup.1 COOH, HOOCR.sup.2 COOH, R.sup.1 SO.sub.3 H, R.sup.1 OPO.sub.3 H or (R.sup.1 O).sub.2 PO.sub.2 H, wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may be substituted with a hydroxyl group or an alkylphenyl group having 7 to 26 carbon atoms and R.sup.2 is an alkylene group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and quaternary ammonium salts composed of an ammonium having an oxyalkylene group and an acid radical of the above-mentioned organic acids, and (c) at least one substituted amine salt with dialkyl sulfosuccinate of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is as defined above, and R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are the same or different and each is hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may be substituted with a hydroxyl group or a polyoxyalkylene group, provided that all R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are not hydrogen at the same time.
