Abstract
A polyvinyl chloride blend contains, as a smoke-reducing additive, a copper (II) hydroxide phosphate of the composition Cu.sub.3 (PO.sub.4).sub.2.Cu(OH).sub.2 in amounts from about 0.1 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl chloride. The thus-treated polyvinyl chloride is not discolored by the addition of this copper compound a significant advantage when compared to conventional copper compound additives.
