Abstract
A homo- or copolymer of a 1,3-diene having reactive silyl groups bound thereto, and containing 0.4-12% by weight of bound silicon, prepared by reacting at a temperature of 150.degree.-300.degree. C., a 1,3-diene homo- or copolymer, having less than 1% of its aliphatic double bonds conjugated and having a molecular weight (M.sub.n) of 400-8,000, with a silicon compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is an unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon residue of 2-20 carbon atoms, PA0 X is halogen, C.sub.1-6 alkoxy, C.sub.1-6 alkoxyalkoxy, C.sub.6-12 aryloxy, C.sub.1-8 alkanoyloxy, C.sub.1-6 ketoximato or C.sub.1-8 hydrocarbylamido, PA0 Y and Z independently are one of the X groups, hydrogen, alkyl of 1-8 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl of 5-12 carbon atoms, or optionally substituted phenyl.
