Abstract
Compositions for the remineralization and prevention of demineralization of the teeth of animals including humans in the form of two phases, one phase containing a water-soluble calcium compound and the other phase containing a water-soluble phosphate and optionally a water-soluble fluorine compound. The concentration of calcium and phosphate (PO.sub.4) ions is about 50 to 35,000 ppm and 50 to 40,000 ppm respectively, and the amount of fluorine compound is about 0.01 to 5.0%, all by weight of the total composition. The compositions may also contain at least one of a conventional flavoring substance, aroma substance, surfactant, astringent, polishing agent, thickener and preservative.
