Abstract

A manually-operated labeler for dispensing labels from a carrier strip having labels stuck onto the carrier strip. The labeler has a casing in which there is a carrier strip feeding mechanism driven by an actuating mechanism for advancing the carrier strip and turning it back at a turnback part to separate a label from the carrier strip. A printing device is provided which moves toward the turnback part for printing a label which is passing thereover on the carrier strip. The handle extended from said case is opposed to a lever provided as a part of the actuating mechanism and a checking device is dividedly provided on the lever and the handle to generate a signal when the lever approaches the handle. The printing device performs a rocking motion with a guide. The ink supplying device opposing the printing device has an ink roller arranged on the cover of the case. The feed drum of the carrier strip feeding mechanism is rotated by a feed drive mechanism provided on the actuating mechanism regardless of the operation of the lever.
