Abstract

Water-emulsifiable hard waxes consisting of homogeneous copolymers of ethylene with from 1 to 8% by weight, based on copolymer, of one or more .alpha.-olefinically unsaturated C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 -carboxylic acids, and having the following characteristic data: PA1 Melt index=1,500 to 20 MFI units, measured at 160.degree. C. under 325 g load PA1 Acid number=10-60 PA1 Hoppler hardness=400-800 bar, measured at 23.degree. C. by DGF standard method M-III 9a (57).
