Protonic acid-free photoconductive compositions and elements comprising a photoconductor and, as a sensitizer, a 4-tertiaryaminobenzob!pyrylium salt or a 4-tertiaryaminobenzob!thiopyrylium salt. The resulting compositions and elements exhibit low persistent conductivity.
