Abstract
Liquid crystal material containing a disazo dyestuff of formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 designates alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylsulphonyl, aralkylsulphonyl, cycloalkylsulphonyl, arylsulphonyl, acyl or a R--NH--CO-- or R--O--CO-- group, in which PA1 R represents alkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, it being possible for the radicals mentioned for R.sub.1 to be substituted, and n is 0 or 1, PA1 Y designates --O--, PA1 R.sub.2 has one of the meanings given above for R.sub.1, if n=1, or is hydrogen, if n=0, and PA1 R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 designate hydrogen, optionally substituted alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or cyano.
