Abstract

Potassium tetrafluoro aluminate of a melting point not exceeding 575.degree. C. is produced by reacting an aqueous solution of fluoro aluminum acid with an aqueous solution of a potassium compound, especially of potassium hydroxide, the amount of potassium in said solution being less than the stoichiometrically required amount.
