Abstract
Photographic material which comprises in at least one silver halide emulsion layer or a layer or layers adjacent thereto at least one substituted hydroquinone compound of the formula ##STR1## where R is hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl, aryl or a heterocyclic group, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each hydrogen, halogen or optionally substituted alkyl, PA0 x is 0 or 1, PA0 y is 0 or 1, PA0 and R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a group of the formula ##STR2## where R, x and y are as just defined.
