Abstract

Elastic synthetic-resin compositions useful as adhesive and sealing compounds, for example, for absorbent and nonabsorbent undercoats on surfaces, are based, in particular, on polyurethane and have incorporated therein as adhesion promoters silanes containing polyoxyalkyl groups of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is --SH, --NHR.sup.2, ##STR2## or --(NH--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2).sub.b NHR.sup.2, b is 1 or 2, PA0 R is --CH.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.3 or --OR.sup.1, PA0 R.sup.1 is --(CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O).sub.m --R.sup.3, PA0 R.sup.2 is H, an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group each of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or such a group which is substituted PA0 R.sup.3 is alkyl of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or substituted alkyl of 1-10 carbon atoms, PA0 R.sup.4 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, PA0 n is a number from 1 to 8, PA0 m is a number from 1 to 30, PA0 p is .gtoreq. 1, and PA0 q+p is .ltoreq. 2. The synthetic-resin compounds of this invention have improved adhesion to diverse substrates even without the use of adhesion-promoting coatings. This adhesion is sufficient for practical purposes and can be secured within relatively short times.
