Abstract
This invention relates to a method of dechlorinating coal, which comprises treating washery-processed coal having a particle size from 1 to 12 mm with aqueous ammonia having a concentration from 1 to 18 M for from 3 to 25 hours. The invention will be of use in the preparation of coal for coal utilization plants so that the coal is less likely to cause corrosion.
