Abstract
A process for producing heat-resistant ferritic stainless steel sheet which exhibits improved toughness and productivity is disclosed. The process comprises the following steps: PA0 (a) hot rolling a steel with a finishing temperature of not higher than 850.degree. C., said steel comprising, by weight %, PA1 C: not more than 0.07%, PA1 Si: 1.5-3.5%, PA1 Mn: not more than 2.0%, PA1 Cr: 10-25% , PA1 N: not more than 0.05%, PA1 Nb: 5X(C %+N %)-20X(C %+N %), PA1 optionally at least one element selected from the group consisting of Al, Y, Ca, and REM in a total amount of 0.3% or less, and PA1 the balance iron and incidental impurities; and PA0 (b) annealing the resulting hot rolled steel sheet at a temperature of 820.degree.-1000.degree. C. Cold rolling may be applied to the annealed hot-rolled steel sheet.
