Abstract
Disclosed is an ablative infrared-sensitive optical recording composition containing as a component thereof a dispersion of a resinous binder and a soluble naphthalocyanine of the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are independently selected from hydrogen and alkyl groups containing from about 4 carbon atoms to about 8 carbon atoms, and M is two hydrogen atoms, a divalent, trivalent, or tetravalent metal complex.
