The prostaglandin analogues PA0 16S-methyl-6-oxo-PGE.sub.1 methyl ester, PA0 17S,20-dimethyl-6-oxo-PGE.sub.1 methyl ester, PA0 15S-methyl-6-oxo-PGE.sub.1 and non-toxic salts thereof, PA0 17S,20-dimethyl-13,14-dihydro-6-oxo-PGE.sub.1 methyl ester, PA0 17S,20-dimethyl-6-oxo-PGE.sub.1 alcohol, PA0 17S,20-dimethyl-6S-PGI.sub.1 methyl ester, PA0 17S,20-dimethyl-trans-.DELTA..sup.2 -6RS-PGI.sub.1 methyl ester, PA0 17S,20-dimethyl-6,9.alpha.-nitrilo-PGI.sub.1 methyl ester, PA0 2-decarboxy-2-glycoloyl-17S,20-dimethyl-6S-PGI.sub.1, PA0 2-decarboxy-2-glycoloyl-15-cyclopentyl-16,17,18,19,20-pentanor-6S-PGI.sub.1 PA0 17S,20-dimethyl-6S-PGI.sub.1 alcohol, PA0 15-cyclopentyl-16,17,18,19,20-pentanor-6S-PGI.sub.1 alcohol and PA0 15-(3-propylcyclopentyl)-16,17,18,19,20-pentanor-6,9.alpha.-nitrilo-PGI.sub .1 alcohol, and cyclodextrin clathrates thereof are useful in the prevention or treatment of cytodamage.
