Abstract

Novel compounds exhibiting antiviral activity are disclosed, such compounds are represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein m represents the integer 0, 1 or 2; R represents trihalomethyl, alkyl or phenyl; R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, bromo, chloro, fluoro, cyano, nitro, amino, alkyl, alkoxy or trifluoromethyl; R.sub.2 represents hydroxyl, bromo, chloro, fluoro, cyano, acetyl, benzoyl, substituted benzoyl, alkyl, alkoxy, substituted alkoxy, benzyl, substituted benzyl, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, alkylaminosulfonyl, dialkylaminosulfonyl, or the radical --O(CH.sub.2).sub.n R.sub.4 wherein n represents the integer 1, 2 or 3 and R.sub.4 represents cyano or dialkylamino; R.sub.3 represents hydrogen, hydroxyl, bromo, chloro, fluoro, cyano, acetyl, benzoyl, substituted benzoyl, alkyl, alkoxy, substituted alkoxy, benzyl, substituted benzyl, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, alkylaminosulfonyl, dialkylaminosulfonyl, or the radical --O(CH.sub.2).sub.n R.sub.4 wherein n represents the integer 1, 2 or 3; and R.sub.4 represents cyano or dialkylamino; or alternatively R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 taken together represent the radical --O--C(X).sub.2 --O-- wherein X represents hydrogen,…
