Abstract

A television surveillance system is disclosed. A first embodiment of the invention is a system for selecting sectors of rotation of a camera that are contained within predetermined angular limits of rotation of the camera. The system for selecting sectors of rotation include a camera, rotating means for rotating the camera within and between predetermined angular limits, and a mechanism for selectively limiting the rotation of the camera to a sector contained within the predetermined angular limits, and a mechanism for selectively limiting the rotation of the camera to a sector contained within the predetermined angular limits. A second embodiment of the invention is a system for changing the mode of operation of a camera from a first mode to a second mode of operation. The system includes a control system for selecting a first mode of operation of a camera, a mechanism coupled to the control system for generating a change of mode of operation signal when the camera has operated in the selected mode for a time inverval, and a mechanism coupled to the means for generating a change of mode of operation signal for causing the control system to operate the camera in a second mode of op…
