Abstract

A heat-developable photographic material comprising (a) an organic silver salt, (b) a photocatalyst, (c) a reducing agent, (d) a binder, and (e) at least one compound selected from the compound represented by the general formula (I) described below and the compound represented by the general formula (II) described below. ##STR1## wherein X represents a halogen atom; and R represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, an acyl group, a carbamoyl group, an alkylsulfonyl group, an arylsulfonyl group, an aralkylsulfonyl group or a heterocyclic residue, ##STR2## wherein X represents a halogen atom; Z represents a sulfur atom, an oxygen atom or >N--R.sub.1 (wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or an acyl group; (R')n represents a substituent present on the benzene nucleus; and n represents 0 or an integer from 1 to 4. In the heat-developable photographic material, the occurrence of fog is prevented by using the compound represented by the general formula (I) or (II) which has reduced toxicity.
