Abstract
Substituted phenylsulfonyl guanidines of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is a phenyl or phenoxy group, PA1 R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each independently is a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy group, and PA1 R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxy group, which possess herbicidal activity. Intermediates therefor of the formulas ##STR2## are new and also herbicidal. Intermediates of the formulas ##STR3## are also new.
