Abstract

4,5-Dimethoxypyridazones of the formula ##STR1## where X and Y are each oxygen, sulfur, a sulfinyl group or a sulfo group, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 and each hydrogen or alkyl, Z.sup.1, Z.sup.2 and Z.sup.3 are each hydrogen, halogen, nitro, cyano, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylmercapto, haloalkylmercapto, alkylsulfinyl or alkylsulfonyl, n and p are each 0 or 1 and m and q are each 0 to 8, are used for controlling undesirable plant growth.
