Abstract

A method for preparing diorganopolysiloxanes containing fluoroalkyl and/or fluoroalkyloxyalkyl groups which comprises hydrolyzing dichlorosilanes containing fluororalkyl and/or fluoroalkyloxyalkyl groups and thereafter equilibrating the hydrolyzed product in the presence of a compound having the formula EQU [R.sub.3.sup.5 R.sup.6 N]OH where R.sup.5 is an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R.sup.6 is the same as R.sup.5 or a benzyl radical.
